The Burried Life Ep.

In this episode the guys try to play basketball with President Obama. I recorded the episode on my DVR and just got around to watching it last night, it was a funny episode. I never expected them to play with Obama but they got pretty damn close. They were going to interviews with big whigs and were lucky to be getting favors from them. Among all that the guys tried to help to men recconnect with thy're old hang out spot and also reunite them with the old friends they went there with. The guys had to go all the way to the top of the list to accomplish this goal because it was sure to be a difficult one, it was down to one e-mail. When they opened the e-mail unfortunately it read that this one favor would not be able to go through at this time, they were devastated but still had hope, so they said "to be continued". As for the reunion, all was well and they even went for a swim with the old friends and the episode ended. On next week's episode the guys will try to "tell a joke on late night TV".

Pants on the Ground

The extremely funny and inspirational song Pants on the Ground created by General Larry Platt is receiving high praises. Last night Jimmy Fallon showed the song some love by putting on his "Neil Young" outfit and singing it on stage, it was hillarious. They showed that the song has some musical merit and that its here to stay. I in fact love this song, and even though watching the video on You Tube makues me laugh, it goes deeper than that. The fashion sense is going too far and now kids find it cool to wear their pants farther than imaginable. How are you to become successful in life when you can't even walk properly? Hopefully this song gets to some of their heads and they change thir habits.

Slumdog Millionaire

After hearing so many positive reviews from my friends, i decided to purchase the movie Slumdog Millionaire. It was worth every peny, I enjoyed it and it was unlike what i expected it would be. I thought it was mainly going to be kind of like a musical but the only part that involed singing and dancing was the closing credits where they performed their Oscar winning song. The movie was about a boy whose gone through so much, seeing his mother die as their town was invadedby murderers and having tolive on the streets with his only brother. The story captivated me, filled with pain, heartbreak and eventually love. He did so many things just to be with his one love. I reccommend this movie to anyone who has not yet seeen it, I give it 5 stars.

Pennsylvania school officials spied on students with laptop webcams: lawsuit

This article was interesting to read, the idea of activating student's webcams is a violation of our rights. Why would they even allow this, what is to gain from watching the students in their privacy. They were able to watch the student and his family while they undressed, not knowing they were being watched. I would have immediately sued because there is no justification for this. A similar link i clicked on explained that the coach set these alarms to see how the players were improving, but this statement is false, he most likely used the images for his benefits.

Hot Topic Events

On Friday, you can stop by at any local Hot Topis store dressed as your favorite Alice in Wonderland character and get an exclusive Almost Alice listening party. Stop by on February 26th at 7:00 PM to hear the CD in its entirety. Plus, you’ll hear special messages from Christofer Drew of Never Shout Never. and the best part is if you pre-order a copy of the CD you will receive a free gift. This seems like an awesome event to me and since I probably won't be doing anything Saturday Night I might stop by at the Hot Topic in Roosevelt Field and get a listen.

The all-star game

The all-star game was held a Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas. A record setting 108,000 people attended the game, more than few of them were celebrities. My opinion on the game was that it wasnt as great as I expected it to be, most of my time was spent on the computer watching Family Guy episodes. The slam dunk contest, three-point shootout, and skills challenge was better and more interesting to me.

Shwayze

Shwayze is one of my favorite groups, it consist of Shwayze (Aaron Smith) and Cisco Adler. The group formed when Cisco who was frontman for the band Whitestar was performing at a night club then Shwayze jumped upstage and began freestyling, the two immediately became great friends and began working together. They are under Suretone Records, Their first release buzzin and their second corona and lime made Billboards to 100. They debut their MTV reality show on August 2008, the show stopped but only to be followed by Let it beat TV on iamrogue.com. They have worked on a number of mixtapes and are still releasing videos off their album. Tours have been made all over the world and I hope they show up in New York so I can go see them live

John Mayer

John Mayer apologized recently for making innapropriate comments Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston and he also used the N-word several times. I personally feel that John is quite awesome and he could do whatever he wants but at least he apologized. A quote from what he said "It started as an attempt to not let the waves of criticism get to me, but it's gotten out of hand and I've created somewhat of a monster," Mayer tweeted. "I wanted to be a blues guitar player. And a singer. And a songwriter. Not a shock jock. I don't have the stomach for it." John feels that he doesnt has a hood pass but once did and he truly feels bad that he used the N-word and also promised never to say it again.

Valentines Day

The upcoming flick is expected to be a big hit with its surplus amount of stars. An all-star cast that includes Jessicas Alba and Biel, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Queen Latifah, Taylor Swift and (oh yeah) Julia Roberts, not forgetting Ashton Kutcher and a bunch of other guys. I intend to go watch this movie as it it is said to be the ultimate date movie, hopefully it meets its expectations. I am a follower of Ashton Kutcher on Facebook and all he does is rave about this movie and how great its going to be, im a big fan of Ashton and every movie he has ever been in always entertained.

Cavs vs. Magics

I watched the game yesterday, and it was a pretty close game. The scored were even throughout the whole game until the last minutes of the 4th quarter when Lebron James went off. He singlehandedly killed the Orlando Magigs and added an exclamation point to the win. It seemed as if he was superhuman, could not mmiss a shot, even when it seemed like he was way over his head the 3 pointer still went in. Devastation was seen in the face of the Orlando team but at least they tried, unfortunately for them King James was not ready to give up. Orlando currently stands in 2nd place while the Cavs are in it to win it at 1st place in the Eastern Conference

The Burried Life

Yesterday nights episode was "help deliver a baby." The guys went on to find a young girl in Denver who has never visited her Mothers' gravesite. Emotions rose as the guys paced back and forth throughout the room in hopes of eliminating #74 off their list. Dave felt over his head and it seemed like he wouldnt be able to go through with it but time was racing and the doctor came into the room and it was the moment to deliver. Mouths were open, everybody was at a total awe when they saw the baby come out of their, it was clear that they were happy and proud to witness such a moment. Back to the young girl from Denver, the guys raised up enough money in tips from working in a restaurant to buy a plane ticket for her. When they made it there, they were so many graves, it was time to split up, when they found her mom she fell to the ground and began crying as the guys tried to console her. The day had ended and one more thing crossed off the list. Link to sneak peak of next weeks episode http://www.mtv.com/videos/misc/482170/krump-competition.jhtml#id=1631479

Super Bowl XLIV

New Orleans still in the brink of reconstruction are famed by the win of their prized Saints. Last nights' game was momentous, the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 31-17, superstar quaterback Drew Brees led his team to victory with quick thinking and great passes. This was not the most exciting game I've ever seen but it was captivating, just as I thought the Colts were going to take it until the Saints came back and shocked me. The Saints are surely to take the championship back home and celebrate some more, they deserve it.

Orphaned, Raped and Ignored

My teacher gave me a link to a story of genocide and humanitarian crimes going on in Eastern Congo. This story was very gruesome and difficult to read because it describe the life of a young girl named Chance Tombola and how her parents were killed by armed soldiers from an extremist Hutu militia. The soldiers kidnapped her two sisters and her two cousins later on when she moved in with her aunt and uncle where she witnessed her uncles mother by the same men who killed her parents. It was not yet over for the young Chance who was then raped by one of the men and watched her aunt get raped six times as well. I did not know this what was going on in Congo, more people should be aware of this in order for it to stop happening. For Chance Tombola life will never be the same and by reading her story we will learn how bad it is over there and how in dire need these civilians are for help. Due to the rape Chance contracted a STD and still from this day suffers pain when she urinates. Chance will also have difficulty finding a husband because men in Congo reject the women who were raped and think of them as tainted merchandise.

Grammys

The Staples Center was home to the 52nd Grammy Awards show Sunday evening. Stars were out, and awards were given, but among all were the two most recognized winners Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Beyonce made history by winning an astounding 6 awards meanwhile Taylor Swift won 4. It was suprising to see Taylor win album of the year, beating out iconic stars. Among other winners were Green Day who won best rock album, they deserved it, i personally have this album and its really great. The Black Eyed Peas took home 3 awards and performed "Imma be" and "I Gotta Feeling." The ceremony was pretty epic because there were 1,003 individuals nominated in 109 categories.
