John Mayer

John Mayer apologized recently for making innapropriate comments Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston and he also used the N-word several times. I personally feel that John is quite awesome and he could do whatever he wants but at least he apologized. A quote from what he said "It started as an attempt to not let the waves of criticism get to me, but it's gotten out of hand and I've created somewhat of a monster," Mayer tweeted. "I wanted to be a blues guitar player. And a singer. And a songwriter. Not a shock jock. I don't have the stomach for it." John feels that he doesnt has a hood pass but once did and he truly feels bad that he used the N-word and also promised never to say it again.

Valentines Day

The upcoming flick is expected to be a big hit with its surplus amount of stars. An all-star cast that includes Jessicas Alba and Biel, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Queen Latifah, Taylor Swift and (oh yeah) Julia Roberts, not forgetting Ashton Kutcher and a bunch of other guys. I intend to go watch this movie as it it is said to be the ultimate date movie, hopefully it meets its expectations. I am a follower of Ashton Kutcher on Facebook and all he does is rave about this movie and how great its going to be, im a big fan of Ashton and every movie he has ever been in always entertained.

Cavs vs. Magics

I watched the game yesterday, and it was a pretty close game. The scored were even throughout the whole game until the last minutes of the 4th quarter when Lebron James went off. He singlehandedly killed the Orlando Magigs and added an exclamation point to the win. It seemed as if he was superhuman, could not mmiss a shot, even when it seemed like he was way over his head the 3 pointer still went in. Devastation was seen in the face of the Orlando team but at least they tried, unfortunately for them King James was not ready to give up. Orlando currently stands in 2nd place while the Cavs are in it to win it at 1st place in the Eastern Conference

The Burried Life

Yesterday nights episode was "help deliver a baby." The guys went on to find a young girl in Denver who has never visited her Mothers' gravesite. Emotions rose as the guys paced back and forth throughout the room in hopes of eliminating #74 off their list. Dave felt over his head and it seemed like he wouldnt be able to go through with it but time was racing and the doctor came into the room and it was the moment to deliver. Mouths were open, everybody was at a total awe when they saw the baby come out of their, it was clear that they were happy and proud to witness such a moment. Back to the young girl from Denver, the guys raised up enough money in tips from working in a restaurant to buy a plane ticket for her. When they made it there, they were so many graves, it was time to split up, when they found her mom she fell to the ground and began crying as the guys tried to console her. The day had ended and one more thing crossed off the list. Link to sneak peak of next weeks episode http://www.mtv.com/videos/misc/482170/krump-competition.jhtml#id=1631479

Super Bowl XLIV

New Orleans still in the brink of reconstruction are famed by the win of their prized Saints. Last nights' game was momentous, the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 31-17, superstar quaterback Drew Brees led his team to victory with quick thinking and great passes. This was not the most exciting game I've ever seen but it was captivating, just as I thought the Colts were going to take it until the Saints came back and shocked me. The Saints are surely to take the championship back home and celebrate some more, they deserve it.

Orphaned, Raped and Ignored

My teacher gave me a link to a story of genocide and humanitarian crimes going on in Eastern Congo. This story was very gruesome and difficult to read because it describe the life of a young girl named Chance Tombola and how her parents were killed by armed soldiers from an extremist Hutu militia. The soldiers kidnapped her two sisters and her two cousins later on when she moved in with her aunt and uncle where she witnessed her uncles mother by the same men who killed her parents. It was not yet over for the young Chance who was then raped by one of the men and watched her aunt get raped six times as well. I did not know this what was going on in Congo, more people should be aware of this in order for it to stop happening. For Chance Tombola life will never be the same and by reading her story we will learn how bad it is over there and how in dire need these civilians are for help. Due to the rape Chance contracted a STD and still from this day suffers pain when she urinates. Chance will also have difficulty finding a husband because men in Congo reject the women who were raped and think of them as tainted merchandise.

Grammys

The Staples Center was home to the 52nd Grammy Awards show Sunday evening. Stars were out, and awards were given, but among all were the two most recognized winners Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Beyonce made history by winning an astounding 6 awards meanwhile Taylor Swift won 4. It was suprising to see Taylor win album of the year, beating out iconic stars. Among other winners were Green Day who won best rock album, they deserved it, i personally have this album and its really great. The Black Eyed Peas took home 3 awards and performed "Imma be" and "I Gotta Feeling." The ceremony was pretty epic because there were 1,003 individuals nominated in 109 categories.
