Miss USA in Hot Water

Rima Fakih a 24yr old Lebanese immigrant wins the Miss USA competition. This is the first time a Muslim has won and at a time when Arabs are being stereotyped, this is a step up for them. Unfortunately theres already scandal brewing up for the young women, pictures of her pole dancing wearing shorts and a tank top in a night club for a radiow show in 2007 have just been brought up to the media. I've seen the pictures and to be honest they are not as bad as the news is making them sound, its not as if shes naked and worst pictures have been seen of past winners. Fakih was born in Srifa, a village in southern Lebanon that was heavily bombed during the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. She moved to the United States with her family in 1993 and attended a Catholic school in New York. Her family moved to Michigan in 2003. The family knew that being of muslim descent would play a role in the competition but the host of the show claims that her race and religion were not issues and that hopefully she was only judged on her beauty and elegance. In my opinion her race should not even be an issue but I would see why people might have a problem with it followin september 11, but shes only one person and her chances of winning shoulkd not be lessened due to the actions taken on by others.

Mr. Cameron

David Cameron is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, he now has to explain to his people why the country is going bankrupt. To illustrate this I used two different soures, Foxnews and Nypost.

-Foxnews compared David's crisis to that of Winston Churchill who fought for Germany in support of communism.

-Nypost compared it to John kennedy's memorable speech for help.

-Foxnews used pictures to ilustrate their points.

-Nypost gave their points in writing without the use of metaphors.

- Foxnews gave more understanding while Nypost made it complex.

Insomniac City

This was beautifully written, I liked the way u added visuals to the story which enabled me to guess what's going on. "Sometimes I’d sit in the kitchen in the dark and gaze out at the Empire State and Chrysler buildings. Such a beautiful pair, so impeccably dressed, he in his boxy suit, every night a different hue, and she, an arm’s length away, in her filigreed skirt the color of the moon."How lovely. The entire piece is wonderful, I wish I was able to move there, you made it sound so great. The NY Times should give you a raise, they aren't paying you nearly enough for such stellar writing. Maybe then you'll sleep much sounder. The first time i visited Manhattan was in 2008, I was shocked by the epic sights, the buildings were so high, I just wanted to stay there forever. Unfortunately, I had to leave but I still visit there every chance I get.

Kissing Cousins

This article is about Neanderthals and their history, the editor gives reasonable detais of where they originated from and where they eventually died out. Also something which interested me was their features and how much they differed from us. From their bones we know that Neanderthals were bigger and stronger than us “anatomically modern humans,” and they had larger skulls that boasted prominent eyebrow ridges. I find it strange that people believe, that if a species has evolved from another one, the older species has to have died out. What if this was'nt exactly true and imagine how cool it would be if all the past types of human, were still around today, all the different art, culture and languages that would exist. Although they would be some complications it would still be interesting. Many speculate on the demise of neanderthals som claiming that they did indeed interbreed (vigorously and frequently) and the original "pure" species simply faded away, drowned in the modern European genetic pool. Maybe originating red-headed Celts, Skandies and stocky Basques. Hopefully advanced genetic tools plus lucky fossil findings someday will bring more solid conclusions about this.

Terror Editorial

This is my opinion on "A Terror-Trial Farce." The story is about Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, on trial for the 1998 US embassy bombings in Africa. Ahmed wants to be spared the humiliation of a strip search for each court appearance. This guy thinks he deserves sympathy, maybe he shouldve thought about that before he became involved in those bombings. The defense recently made a plea that Ahmed suffered PTSD which is why he was unable to defend himself in court. About all the people in Africa who suffer from injuries due to that same bombing Ahmed, how do You think they feel? His pleas should not be made into effect because he does not deserve it. The main point of this editorial was to say that terrorist are being allowed to have civilian trials instead of remaining in Guantanao Bay and having their trial heard there. I agree with this editor that they should remain in the prison, having them in the public may be extremely dangerous and a hazard to the city.

Car Bombing Editorial

Dear Editor,

Sorry but your editorial The curse of our times: We must remain vigilant, as terror targets city and nation, does not adress the proper means of evidence, clearly the man was just taking his shirt off due to the warm weather, accusations should not have been made. The video was way too short to associate it with anything more than what it was. The other point i wanted to make was why did you claim that it was part of an islamic plot? Why couldnt it have been justa random man having a bad day? The viewer cannot even see the man, the grainy quality of the imagery is appalling at a time when crystal clear video technology is available at prices that are affordable to ordinary buyers. The video shows a man changing his clothes in full view of a camera and then throwing his clothes in an alley close by the government and the media are trying to insult your intelligence by making it seem as if what he did was suspicious. My opinion is that the man in the camera will wind up as an innocent bystander and the truck will wind up stolen. This is just a story blown too far off proportion, next time I'm hot and in midtown, I'll be sure to keep my shirt on or else I may become the suspect in a terror plot.

Noahs Arc found???

Yeung Wing-Cheung claims that he and his team has found the remains of Noahs Arc. They filmed inside the structure and took wood samples that were later analyzed in Iran, he claims the wood was carbon-dated to around the reputed time of Noah's flood. Yeung said that he is "99 percent certain that it is Noah's Ark based on historical accounts, including the bible and local beliefs of the people in the area, as well as carbon dating." This to me does not seem valid, not that Im trying to deny their claim but the organic material should have disintegrated in the last 5,000 years. He is only the latest in a long line of people who claim to have found Noah's Ark. In fact, there have been at least half a dozen others who have claimed final, definitive proof of Noah's Ark. So far none of the claims have proven true, so how can we believe this guy. Yeung refuses to disclose the location of the find and is instead keeping it a secret. The team has come up with a large amount of artifaacts and videos from the area but nothing matched the hype and the story is still shady. People believe what they chose to believe in, whose to say if this is truely Noahs Arc or just a batch of wood. History has showed us that amazing things can happen but as far as this goes I'm not going along with the story but if this does prove to be rue then that would be cool but there will always be doubts.

Malcolm X Killer Freed

Thomas Hagan, the only man who admitted his role in the 1965 assassination of black leader Malcolm X, was paroled Today. After spending 44 years in prison, he walks out at the age of 69. Since March, 1992 Hagan has been in a full-time work realease program that allowed him to live at home with his family in Brooklyn five days a week while reporting to the prison just two days. To me this does not seem fair, Malcolm is a huge part of our history and anyone involved in his murder I think should spend life in jail. Last month, Hagan pleaded his case for freedom, to return to his family, to become a substance abuse counselor and to make his mark on what time he has left in this world. "I have deep regrets about my participation in that," he told the parole board on March 3, according to a transcript. "I don't think it should ever have happened." said Hagan. He was sentenced to only 20 years in jail along with two others who may have participated in the gunning down of Malcolm X while he gave a speech in 1965. To win his release, He was required to seek, obtain and maintain a job, support his children and follow a curfew, he must continue to meet those conditions while free. Hagan speaks about the remorse he feels for what he did, but if you were so sorry, why do it at all? Well last month, he told the parole board he felt the urge to kill Malcolm X because of his inflammatory comments about the Nation's founder, and goes on to seek forgiveness by stating he did not fully understand what he was doing. To me thats just excuses, others may see it as being under the influence of radicals but Hagan must have had some sense to at least know what is wrong and right. Malcom X was a great man and would have been a great unifier if his life was'nt ended so soon.

Sprint's first 4G Phone

The HTC Evo is the first commercially available 4G handset with a major U.S. carrier. The Evo is an attractive touch-screen device that closely resembles the HTC HD2, Its rich resolution and color support make for a pleasant browsing experience. The touch-screen is very accurate and responsive which gains a big thumbs up.

PHYSICALITY: Below the display are four touch controls for the home screen, main menu, search, and backing out of a page. There's physical navigation control, but that's fine since we rely on the touch screen for most navigation anyway. Other physical controls include a 3.5mm headset hack, a micro-USB port, a power control, and a volume rocker. The protruding camera lens for the 8.3-megapixel shooter sits in the rear face next to the flash and a VGA lens sits above the display for video calls.

This seems like an awesome phone and I would love to have it. The Evo 4G will be available this summer, but Sprint did not say anything about the pricing of the palns but sense tell me it will be a hefty price.

Facebook "like" Button

Facebook this week introduced a new way to express your interests, a "Like" button that's set to appear all around the web. Click the button, and the Web page is shared with your friends. Every like button you submit will be sent back to facebook and will help them serve your needs better. Twitter has already planned a counter-act with the "retweet" but since a significant amount of people have facebook accounts (4 times as much) they settled for the like button instead. Visit CNN or Mashable or Technologizer, click the "Like" button, and that information is posted to your Facebook page. (Though CNN's button is still labeled "Recommend" -- maybe they didn't get the memo.) Meanwhile, if your Facebook friends also like what you like, you can find that out too, again without ever visiting Facebook. This is a great application but theres one thing I dislike about it, your Facebook friends roster will be full of people you barely know. Facebook is making a play to become the single-sign-on and social-sharing engine for every major site on the Net. Is it safe to say that Facebook is taking things too far, YES, but can you blame them, NO, the're intentions of taking over are purely reasonable. Now all they need to do is get a "Dislike" button and that will be enough. If you havent tried it yet, do that then tell me what u think about it.

5 steps to Greener Living

Today is Earth Day and the world is at its deepest ditch, many do not contribute their part but i think its mainly due to to the fact that they don't know what they can do. Every little thing can help our environment, these are 5 steps to better and greener living.

1. Make the switch to compact fluorescent light bulbs- if every American household were to swap just one bulb to CFL, we would save enough energy to light more than 2.5 million homes for a year and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of nearly 800,000 cars.

2. Monitor your thermostat- Check the thermostat durring the seasons and make a note of where it is then change it up two degrees in the warmer months, and down two degrees when it's cold.

3. Clean or replace your air conditioning filter- Air conditioning filters can get dirty in a matter of days, a clogged one has to work harder which means higher electricity bills.

4. Unplug electronic devices when not in use- Devices such as televisions with standby modes can use up to half the power they would draw when turned on, so why not just unplug the devices, its not that much work and it will definetly save more.

5. Bring the bikes back!!- Bicycles are the most efficient way to go green, wouldnt you rather burn calories then burn your wallet? Some contries are dependent on bike riding and significant cahnges have been made to their way of life and the economy.

Upcoming Summer Movies

Summer is just around the corner and this year has produced some of the greates movies (Avatar) and believe it or not more are on the way. Inception (July 16)- It's about a group of dream thieves who slip into the subconscious minds of people while they are sleeping and steal ideas for corporate gain, sounds insane and awesome. The Kids are All Right (July 7th)- A dark comedy about what happens when two kids conceived by artificial insemination invite their father into their lives. Iron Man 2 (May 7) -The title speaks for itself, its gonna be great. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Times- Inspired by the game Jake Gyllenhaal attacks this famous character. What movie are you looking forward to?

Earth Day 2010

April 22, 2010 will mark the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, which made environmental protection a national issue and owes its founding to a dedicated public servant. The idea for Earth Day was former Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson’s, a remarkable senator who set out to make the world a better place so that our children and our childrens children have an opportunity. Everyone can participate during earthday, some activities include going to your local park and helping clean it up or simply staying home and disconecting plugs when not in use and shortening the amount of water you use.

iPhone OS 4.0

The new version of the iPhone's new software is coming soon and it is said to have a combination of the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Sources say that it may include multitasking, integrading ads, borrowing from the iPad, folders and sorting, tethering (the ability to share your phone's cellular connection with other devices, such as a computer), better voice control, profiles, mass storage capability, new way to handle large files, built-in photo editing, and flash compatibility. Although these things are not yet confirmed, they sure do sound like an awesome improvement. When version 4.0 of the software will be available for download still isn't clear but they will be previews of the new features soon. I do not have an iPhone but if all these new features are true then I might just have to go out there and purchase one.

Strongest Drug in the World

Ever heard of a drug that will eliminate your free will? Bet you havent, but in Colombia exists a drug of this magnitude. It is called scopolamine and it seemed to be so completely out there and impossible to comprehend . It is obtained from plants of the family Solanaceae. In some cases the drug has caused confusion, agitation, rambling speech, hallucinations, paranoid behaviors, and delusions. In medicine the drug can be used to treat nausea and motion sickness, intestinal crampingand as a general depressant and adjunct to narcotic painkillers. Even though the drug seems to have been helpful in treating some common cases as well as heping with addiction, I dont think it's worth the risk of dying. Scientists should run more tests on the drug to see if it can do more harm, but as far as taking it, I dont think people should take it.

American Idiot film

The popular band and might I say one of my favorites Green Day is coming to the big screen. After bringing the "American Idiot" musical the guys look towards bigger things. Although nothing has yet been confirmed, it appeares to be a significant step in the almost six-year-old saga of thefilm version of the band's massive 2004 album. Its already getting its star studded cast, as sources say Tom Hanks might be involved, the band laughed when asked if they will make a film out of it but now they are actually taking it serious and are hopeful to see what happens. Until a deal is made we will just have to stay and wait for this epic movie. Until then previews of Green Day's "American Idiot" musical begin at New York's St. James Theatre on Wednesday, and the show will officially open on April 20. i think a movie would be awesome, not sure about the singing lets hope the guys make the best decision! and GIVE THE FANS WHAT THEY WANT. The album itself achieved popularity worldwide, charting in 26 countries and reaching number one in nineteen of them, including the United States and the United Kingdom. Since its release, American Idiot has sold over 14 million copies worldwide, including 267,000 in its opening week. Ive searched the net for more news on this and have found numerous "facts", some I dont believe is true and others that may have potential, but I wont get my hopes up until the word comes from the guys mouths.

GTL

The jersey shore cast takes Gym, Tanning, and Laundry to heart as seen on Spring Breaks 20 Most Outrageous Moments. Snooki, Mike “The Situation” and Pauly of MTV’s hit reality show, Jersey Shore, set the tone for this wild south of the border party by counting down the top 20 most outrageous Spring Break moments of all time. The show featured the three getting there workout in, tanning, and well doing some laundry (although they did have some complications). The countdown was entertaining, I never knew Spring Break was this crazy, they had fear factor moments, and some naked parts as well. This was just the begining to an awesome week of crazy stuff to come.

Tiger is a Text Freak

One of Tiger Wood's many flings Joslyn james posted as many as 100 private texts to her websites that consist of vulgar materials. Some of his texts said "OK, I would like to have a threesome with you and another girl you trust." "I want to treat you rough, throw you around, spank and slap you." "Have you ever had a golden shower done to you? ... just morbid curiosity." "You are my f**king whore. Hold you down while I choke you" LMAO Tiger woods is a beast, I never thought something like this would come from such a laid back cool looking guy. For some reason though I really hope this is true, because this is good news, but whose to say what is right or wrong. You can never tell what someone may say when they believe that its all private, allthough these are extremely sexual and unprofessional, he is human after all. Tiger should not be shocked that she posted these because well she is a pornstar and publicity is what she's after. My opinion on this is that we cant solely blame Tiger, they had to be something that she said beforehand which prompted him to send this right back at her. She should at least post hers up to just to make it fair.

Bad Girls Club Reunion

Last night on Oxygen hosted the Bad Girls Club reunion, it was an epic night filled with cursing, backstabing, and well girls being bad. The first part of the reunion included some revealments and a great fight all thanks to Flo. Flo came that night with that that killer look in her eyes and she was just waiting for someone to say something to her and fortunately for us Natalie was that lucky one, blows were thrown as she rocked natalie on the couch. Other interesting things that reunion was the increase in tension between Natalie and Kate, Natalie spit in her face a second time even after saying that its the lowest thing someone could do. It was one of the best reunions I ever saw and its gonna get even better next week for part 2.

Two and a Half Man

The great funny guy we all know Charlie Sheen is not theman he appears. Sources say that he's a threat on stage due to his alcohol addiction. My main source TMZ.com says that theyve been told information on the matter and learned people on the set got a memo saying they cannot convey any information about what happened on the set or in the production offices, and if they do they will be terminated. They are hiding his true persona for fear that the show may lose its publicity, but the whole world knows of his addiction, but they didnt expect him to be back on the wagon. This has most likely just been a mistake but Charlie is doing better and he's taking rehab seriously, he goes there after work. The show will remain funny and this is just an obstacle that he's going to need to straighten out before it gets too out of hand.

My Blog Theme

The main thesis or "theme" to my blog is entertainment. I give the readers an outlook onto the hottest entertainment news in the country. I often sometimes go on to speak on other hard news topics in the world but always come back to my roots. I give in depth analysis to the best bands out there, the songs they have and give my own opinion as well. I also criticize some artists that seem to be getting more fame than they should be, and tell others whose who in the best of music artists. The thing I love most about my blog is when I ask the readers to give there on input as I pose them questions, this is to see who is really reading my blogs and do they understand what I'm saying. As for global issues, I try to capture the essence of humanity and give specified details to actions in order to make the people see what is going on in the world. If you like the sound of this blog then add me and follow up on my old blogs.

3 Blogs To Check Out

The first interesting blog to read is http://rockstar-100.blogspot.com/2010/03/americas-obsession-with-celebrities.html Tom blogs about the increasing interest of people to celebrities. He gives his own personal oppinion to why people are willing to set aside their own lives and focus on the fame of celebs. The thing I liked most about this post is the way he states the meaning of the press and what they do to engage others. He also asks the readers a question in order to see what they really believe about the subject.

The second blog that caught me was http://beautifulnikkix3.blogspot.com/2010/03/kanye-verifys-rumors.html, this blog is about rapper Kanye west's announcement of claiming that hes the new king of pop. This mostly interested me because kanye is my idol and i dont believe he would say such a thing, so reading this blog helped give me more info to what is going on. In the post they are several quotes form Kanye himself who defends himself by saying that he would never say such a thing even after the passing of Michael jackson.

The final blog is http://rockstar-100.blogspot.com/2010/03/kobe-going-to-workagain.html, this blog has to do with sports and gives you a descriptive highlight to the game. Lakers played a game versus Toronto Tuesday, March 10th and won, this blog explains how they one and who they key player was. The thing I like most about this blog is how they gave the real stats, who had the most points, the first and second half of the game and who led them to the win, according to this specific blog Kobe was the man that night who made the game winning shot.

Lil Wayne in Jail

On Monday, rapper Lil Wayne whose real name is Dwayne Carter was arrest on gun chages. He pleaded guilty in October to having the gun. According to police, he had a .40 caliber pistol on his tour bus but his attorney said that it belonged to somebody else. He was suppose to have gone in long time ago but (unfortunately) his sentencing was delayed twice, once for his dental work and the other for a fire in the courthouse. Because of his celebrity status he will most likely receive protective custody. I believe that he will be out way before his one year sentence and that its kind of a publicity stunt in hopes that when he comes back, his fame will be higher than ever.

Alice in Wonderland

Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" is a box office winner. The movie has earned an estimated $116.3 million makin a record for the highest ever spring release. The 3D flick stars Johny Depp as Mad hatter. Behind "Alice" was "Brooklyn's Finest" with $13.5 million and "Shutter Island" with $13.3 million. Ive heard many great reviews about this movie but have yet to see it. Avatar was amazing, quite frankly it was one of my first 3D experiences, and sources said that this is just a step up from that.

Jersey Shore "cover up"

On an episode of Jersey shore a famous boardwalk fight Ronnie and Sammi left the bar and a fight broke out between Ronnie and this guy who was bothering them at the bar. On the episode they mainly show the guy starting the fight by cursing at them and whatnot but in the real raw footage, it shows the real thing. The real which shows Ronnie and Sammi were clearly antagonizing the couple by spitting out homophobic slurs and other insults before the incident became violent. The couple Joshua Thomas and Kristin Perrenod filed a lawsuit and claims that they have a DVD that show what really happened that night. Although a waiver was signed, the couple think thats its unfair because they were clearly intoxicated in the video and the waiver should not have been allowed. What I think is that this may be just a publicity stunt, possibly involved with the show, how can they have a DVD if they were intoxicated, who was filming all this for them. But if it is true then MTV should come clean and say that Ronnie and Sammi was the real cause.

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is so rich that he won't even accept a $75 million endorsement deal. The company Is involved in irish gambling (PaddyPower.com), the deal was gonna bemade over a 5 year span but Tiger denied in refusal of damaging his image even more. After the sex scandal Tiger was dropped by many endorsements in fear of a bad image but now that he's getting another chance he doesnt want to take it. I think he should take the deal because it seems like he wants to start all over and $75 mill sounds like a good beginning to me. But on the other hand he should probably hold out for endorsements that look a little less shady.

Secret Freemason Society

Some have claimed that someof today's biggest stars are part of freemasonry. Freemasonry is a fraternal organization that arose from obscure origins in the late 16th to early 17th century. But now it exists in many forms all around the world and are expected to have over 5 million with memberships. Reports say that Jay-Z is a freemason but there has been no confirmation as of yet but there has been countless data collected, including pictures of his trade hand sign to him leaving a Masonic temple in Canada. This can only be confirmed if a lodge is known. Most lodges do not give out information about their members to the public for common privacy. In Empire State of Mind, one of Jay Z's popular songs, in the third verse he clearly says Jesus cant save you, Life starts when church ends. I believe that these things are just coincidences and denial is a powerful weapon, as long as people think something is possible their faith goes out the window and they start to believe whatever is told to them.

Chilean Earthquake vs. Haiti Earthquake

The Earthquake in Chile has impacted both the people of Chile and the world. Having two catastrophic earthquakes in the beginning of the new year is not good news for earth, it may be the start of something worst to come. Some may say that the earthquake in Haiti seems to be getting more coverage and aid but Chile's earthquake was not as devastating but it is still receiving help. Scientist claim that the two earthquakes are not in any way similar but the causes were tectonics and poverty. Haiti's weak building materials and poor construction standards share much of the blame for the grotesque numbers of fatalities, injured and internally displaced people. Whereas, most of Chilean buildings are up-to-code and prepared for any disasters that may occur, although many died in the earthquake, they were most likely poor and not able to seek safe shelter.Looters have been a big problem in both these earthquakes, people who are just trying to get food are see this as an opportunity but Chilean president Michelle Bachelet says that more than 13,000 soldiers are being dispatched to secure order. The death toll stood at 723 Tuesday, with 544 reported killed in Maul, where a sewer system collapsed and several water towers were close to toppling, the National Emergency Office said. But to say that the Haiti earthquake is receiving more relief than that of Chile is preposterous, Haiti is a poorer country and should be receiving aid due to their higher death toll but both should be helped. Hopefully the countries recover from this and this tragedy shall never be put on them again. Three sources I used were www.bbc.com, www.dailynews.com, and www.cnn.com.

Lost

Lost is in its final season, and thank god for that, i am truly lost. After missing one season I have no idea whats going on anymore. producer Carlton Cuse squashed the idea that there would be a sequel to the show. He says that its about time to end the story but the final air date has not been said. This is for the best I believe, in the beginning the show was a real hit but I just feel like they did too much with it, if they had just fewer seasons maybe in later years a sequel would be doable. Lost is one of the most influential shows of the decade but the spice is done and now its just bitter and seems outlived. Hopefully this season ends with a bang and the show never be forgotten.

Lakers vs. Denver

Lakers show they cant be broken by defeating Denver in last night's game. Even after being heckled and hearing all the boos throughout the court. The Lakers still overcome the Nuggets.
According to my friend the Lakers are the best and KOBE IS THE BEST!!!!! but to me Dwayne Wade is the best, and his team will once again rise to the top. Ron Artest played very good defense and came through for his team, the final score was 95-89

Two snow days in one month

February seemed to be one of the best months this year, thanks to mother nature. We had 2 snowstorms that caused schools to be closed, including two weeks of breaks. It was crazy!!!. Man mayor Bloomberg is a beast. It was difficult for him but he did it anyway. My snow day was lame, I had to shovel, how was yours?

The Burried Life Ep.

In this episode the guys try to play basketball with President Obama. I recorded the episode on my DVR and just got around to watching it last night, it was a funny episode. I never expected them to play with Obama but they got pretty damn close. They were going to interviews with big whigs and were lucky to be getting favors from them. Among all that the guys tried to help to men recconnect with thy're old hang out spot and also reunite them with the old friends they went there with. The guys had to go all the way to the top of the list to accomplish this goal because it was sure to be a difficult one, it was down to one e-mail. When they opened the e-mail unfortunately it read that this one favor would not be able to go through at this time, they were devastated but still had hope, so they said "to be continued". As for the reunion, all was well and they even went for a swim with the old friends and the episode ended. On next week's episode the guys will try to "tell a joke on late night TV".

Pants on the Ground

The extremely funny and inspirational song Pants on the Ground created by General Larry Platt is receiving high praises. Last night Jimmy Fallon showed the song some love by putting on his "Neil Young" outfit and singing it on stage, it was hillarious. They showed that the song has some musical merit and that its here to stay. I in fact love this song, and even though watching the video on You Tube makues me laugh, it goes deeper than that. The fashion sense is going too far and now kids find it cool to wear their pants farther than imaginable. How are you to become successful in life when you can't even walk properly? Hopefully this song gets to some of their heads and they change thir habits.

Slumdog Millionaire

After hearing so many positive reviews from my friends, i decided to purchase the movie Slumdog Millionaire. It was worth every peny, I enjoyed it and it was unlike what i expected it would be. I thought it was mainly going to be kind of like a musical but the only part that involed singing and dancing was the closing credits where they performed their Oscar winning song. The movie was about a boy whose gone through so much, seeing his mother die as their town was invadedby murderers and having tolive on the streets with his only brother. The story captivated me, filled with pain, heartbreak and eventually love. He did so many things just to be with his one love. I reccommend this movie to anyone who has not yet seeen it, I give it 5 stars.

Pennsylvania school officials spied on students with laptop webcams: lawsuit

This article was interesting to read, the idea of activating student's webcams is a violation of our rights. Why would they even allow this, what is to gain from watching the students in their privacy. They were able to watch the student and his family while they undressed, not knowing they were being watched. I would have immediately sued because there is no justification for this. A similar link i clicked on explained that the coach set these alarms to see how the players were improving, but this statement is false, he most likely used the images for his benefits.

Hot Topic Events

On Friday, you can stop by at any local Hot Topis store dressed as your favorite Alice in Wonderland character and get an exclusive Almost Alice listening party. Stop by on February 26th at 7:00 PM to hear the CD in its entirety. Plus, you’ll hear special messages from Christofer Drew of Never Shout Never. and the best part is if you pre-order a copy of the CD you will receive a free gift. This seems like an awesome event to me and since I probably won't be doing anything Saturday Night I might stop by at the Hot Topic in Roosevelt Field and get a listen.

The all-star game

The all-star game was held a Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas. A record setting 108,000 people attended the game, more than few of them were celebrities. My opinion on the game was that it wasnt as great as I expected it to be, most of my time was spent on the computer watching Family Guy episodes. The slam dunk contest, three-point shootout, and skills challenge was better and more interesting to me.

Shwayze

Shwayze is one of my favorite groups, it consist of Shwayze (Aaron Smith) and Cisco Adler. The group formed when Cisco who was frontman for the band Whitestar was performing at a night club then Shwayze jumped upstage and began freestyling, the two immediately became great friends and began working together. They are under Suretone Records, Their first release buzzin and their second corona and lime made Billboards to 100. They debut their MTV reality show on August 2008, the show stopped but only to be followed by Let it beat TV on iamrogue.com. They have worked on a number of mixtapes and are still releasing videos off their album. Tours have been made all over the world and I hope they show up in New York so I can go see them live

John Mayer

John Mayer apologized recently for making innapropriate comments Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston and he also used the N-word several times. I personally feel that John is quite awesome and he could do whatever he wants but at least he apologized. A quote from what he said "It started as an attempt to not let the waves of criticism get to me, but it's gotten out of hand and I've created somewhat of a monster," Mayer tweeted. "I wanted to be a blues guitar player. And a singer. And a songwriter. Not a shock jock. I don't have the stomach for it." John feels that he doesnt has a hood pass but once did and he truly feels bad that he used the N-word and also promised never to say it again.

Valentines Day

The upcoming flick is expected to be a big hit with its surplus amount of stars. An all-star cast that includes Jessicas Alba and Biel, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Queen Latifah, Taylor Swift and (oh yeah) Julia Roberts, not forgetting Ashton Kutcher and a bunch of other guys. I intend to go watch this movie as it it is said to be the ultimate date movie, hopefully it meets its expectations. I am a follower of Ashton Kutcher on Facebook and all he does is rave about this movie and how great its going to be, im a big fan of Ashton and every movie he has ever been in always entertained.

Cavs vs. Magics

I watched the game yesterday, and it was a pretty close game. The scored were even throughout the whole game until the last minutes of the 4th quarter when Lebron James went off. He singlehandedly killed the Orlando Magigs and added an exclamation point to the win. It seemed as if he was superhuman, could not mmiss a shot, even when it seemed like he was way over his head the 3 pointer still went in. Devastation was seen in the face of the Orlando team but at least they tried, unfortunately for them King James was not ready to give up. Orlando currently stands in 2nd place while the Cavs are in it to win it at 1st place in the Eastern Conference

The Burried Life

Yesterday nights episode was "help deliver a baby." The guys went on to find a young girl in Denver who has never visited her Mothers' gravesite. Emotions rose as the guys paced back and forth throughout the room in hopes of eliminating #74 off their list. Dave felt over his head and it seemed like he wouldnt be able to go through with it but time was racing and the doctor came into the room and it was the moment to deliver. Mouths were open, everybody was at a total awe when they saw the baby come out of their, it was clear that they were happy and proud to witness such a moment. Back to the young girl from Denver, the guys raised up enough money in tips from working in a restaurant to buy a plane ticket for her. When they made it there, they were so many graves, it was time to split up, when they found her mom she fell to the ground and began crying as the guys tried to console her. The day had ended and one more thing crossed off the list. Link to sneak peak of next weeks episode http://www.mtv.com/videos/misc/482170/krump-competition.jhtml#id=1631479

Super Bowl XLIV

New Orleans still in the brink of reconstruction are famed by the win of their prized Saints. Last nights' game was momentous, the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 31-17, superstar quaterback Drew Brees led his team to victory with quick thinking and great passes. This was not the most exciting game I've ever seen but it was captivating, just as I thought the Colts were going to take it until the Saints came back and shocked me. The Saints are surely to take the championship back home and celebrate some more, they deserve it.

Orphaned, Raped and Ignored

My teacher gave me a link to a story of genocide and humanitarian crimes going on in Eastern Congo. This story was very gruesome and difficult to read because it describe the life of a young girl named Chance Tombola and how her parents were killed by armed soldiers from an extremist Hutu militia. The soldiers kidnapped her two sisters and her two cousins later on when she moved in with her aunt and uncle where she witnessed her uncles mother by the same men who killed her parents. It was not yet over for the young Chance who was then raped by one of the men and watched her aunt get raped six times as well. I did not know this what was going on in Congo, more people should be aware of this in order for it to stop happening. For Chance Tombola life will never be the same and by reading her story we will learn how bad it is over there and how in dire need these civilians are for help. Due to the rape Chance contracted a STD and still from this day suffers pain when she urinates. Chance will also have difficulty finding a husband because men in Congo reject the women who were raped and think of them as tainted merchandise.

Grammys

The Staples Center was home to the 52nd Grammy Awards show Sunday evening. Stars were out, and awards were given, but among all were the two most recognized winners Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Beyonce made history by winning an astounding 6 awards meanwhile Taylor Swift won 4. It was suprising to see Taylor win album of the year, beating out iconic stars. Among other winners were Green Day who won best rock album, they deserved it, i personally have this album and its really great. The Black Eyed Peas took home 3 awards and performed "Imma be" and "I Gotta Feeling." The ceremony was pretty epic because there were 1,003 individuals nominated in 109 categories.

It was a very entertaining game and to be honest with you i was kinda rooting for Colts, so its a good thing they won. Next up is Saints, very hard to choose who may win but it will be a historic game. Who do you think is gonna take this?

Since the tragedy in Haiti they have been concern in the celebrity role, everyone wnts to contribute. Stars such as George Clooney, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Nicole Kidman, Jason Reitman, Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep, Drew Barrymore, Penelope Cruz and many more have been making this disaster known. Its great to see these stars putting they're fame to good use, people need to be aware of this. In addition, many stars have taken it to their responsibilities to donate and get others to donate to Hatian relief. Some have even gone to Haiti themselves to see the destruction at hand and to get an upfront experience of what its like over there.
